I know that i dont know a lot about the software end of this, but im sure this will prove that! I am trying to run MAME and nesticle through game launcher. I got Nesticle running without a problem, but i cant get MAME to run, all my screenshots will load, and it found my directory, but when it opens the game it just goes black for a second, and then goes back to GL. ANy ideas?

When you are first setting up emus in GL, set it up with the debug option (in glaunch.cfg i believe) on to see what GL is passing in the command line and more importantly to see the error message.
You can also look at runit.bat and the logs in the log directory...
*Shrug* those are good starting points.
report back with more info if you can't figure it out that way.

the error message is as follows:
C:\mame .exe .mario
'mame.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

Ah yes, wonderful buggy GameLauncher. Make your roms folder a subfolder of where your mame.exe folder is. Then tell GameLauncher not to send full rom path.
In your example, your rom folder would be c:\roms
I struggled with this stupid problem for a week before I finally figured it out. For some reason, Game Launcher replaces the path "c:\roms\" with "." $20 says this will fix your problem.

being the fool that i am i slightly botched the error. Oops!
Here is what it really said:
C:\mame> mame.exe marble
'mame.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file.
C:\mame>cd C:\GL\glaunch
C:\GL\glanunch>pause
Press any key to continue
My roms folder is in C:\mame\roms
exe is in C:\mame

C:\mame> mame.exe marble
'mame.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file.
It means exactly what it says.. "mame.exe" is not a valid executable. Can you run MAME by hand? If so, what is the exact command you use?

Sounds like you're running Win2k or XP, and it can't find any file by the name of mame.exe . Which version of mame do you have installed? DOS command line? If that's so, it should be dmame.exe. Fastmame? Shoudl be fastmame.exe. Verify that you do indeed have a mame.exe in that directory.

Ok
so i got it to launch the games that i have. But now i cant seem to remove the unwanted games from my list. Do i want to use a rom file or not? It would seem easier to not, but it doesnt find any roms if i have it set to no. Also my map file seems to be right, but its not reading that either?
arrrrrg!

another notch completed.
I got the directory to work, but now for some reason. My map file is only showing some of the games properly? I even cut and pasted the rom names from the rom file so i know they are the right names. Any other ideas. Its not all of the games only some of them.

Which games work and which games don't? List a couple examples of each, and their corresponding entry in the map file. It could be an upper case/lower case issue, though I thought I fixed that.
