Maybe people that have already purchased rom can give me a list of correct place to buy roms? This should be added some where to this nice ressource site that I really enjoy to read. Keep continue the good work. :)

From the rules:

5. Nothing illegal! Do I even need to explain this one? Need a ROM to repair an arcade board you own? Fine to talk about. Need a ROM to complete your MAME collection? Don't bother to post here. If someone posts such a request, please don't answer it -- no direct answers, no hints, no private messages.

We do it however we do it, but according to the rules, we don't discuss it.

To be fair to the OP, there used to be legitimate ways to purchase roms (star roms comes to mind).  I'm not aware of anything like that around now though.

Yep, that's where we all get our ROMs from. Nowhere else. I just love playing Robby Roto everyday.  ;D

Buy some classic game collections (for PC or if you can read the DVD's from PS2, go for those versions) and distil the roms from there. Sometimes you need like Filejuicer or so, or sometimes its just a matter of renaming certain files to romname.zip. Watch out that most of these packs run an old version of MAME and version 0.129 wont work on them. It's probably against the EULA (what's legit about those texts anyway?) of those discs, but hey, you should never double click the installer on the DVD's as it installs tons of copy-protection crap and malware, and thus you never had chance to read and accept the EULA (Its shown in the regular installation proces). So it's pretty legal. You pay to own the roms, you just rename them and put them in a different folder as intended. Who's gonna bleed on you about that?

How do you post a link to Youtube that does not shop up immediately.

It's supposed to, sosey. It's called 'embedded feature', and is less than a year old round here.

Anyways, I think brow-beating noobs by posting the rules is less effective than merely saying "check the rules", and then PMing the person with some more detailed info, whatever that may be.
