Yes, it is normal for some newer version of MAME not to play older version roms... if you were using .039 then your roms are WAYYY out dated and will not work on .129.

Thank you sir. Didn't know a rom could be outdated.

Do a search for CLR Mame. It's a tool which takes your version of mame and compares it to the roms in your directory, to ensure all your sets are good. If they are not, then that's a trip to google or usenet.

Some advice: Watch your wording. It's one thing to be new and have a ton to learn. It's another thing to imply that the forum is full of cry babies.

You said that by not posting a direct rom link that you weren't breaking the rules. THAT'S what I responded to. You removed the link, but guess what, you couldn't remove it from all the posts that replied to you and now have it. Those people would have to remove it from each of theirs now, but I'm sure this thread will wind up in "Post Hell" soon anyway.

I'll be back with some building question. Software part is almost done. Thank for people that have been gentle in my error about this post. I really haven't got any bad intention.
