Title: Joystick inquiery.
Post by: evitagen on January 20, 2009, 05:22:58 pm
I'm going to be purchasing a couple of joysticks soon and I want one with a cool handle/shaft.  I really like the stainless steel/aluminum look and I actually found a place that sells them:

http://www.dragonjoystick.com/products.htm

My question is, has anyone ordered from this place?  I read a thread on Shoryuken where a guy ordered a stick and never received one, but other than that one thread I haven't been able to find any information about this site, other than a review on one site.

I guess my question is, does anyone have one of these sticks, or know if this is an okay site to order from?

Also, if anyone knows where I can purchase any bat-top stainless/aluminum looking sticks that would go into a happs competition joystick, please post it here.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really like the non-generic handles for the joysticks.

Bumping this topic in hopes that someone will see this and possibly respond before I make this purchase.

Plus we can post links to any site that sells unique joystick handles!

I never would game with a metal stick. Way too cold to be comfortable. Besides I believe the Japanese ball-top/bat-top sticks have the best looks anyway. Not the ugly mag-stick/happ look please.

To be honest I haven't even tried another joystick besides the competition and the perfect 360's.

But I do love the look of the aluminum handles.  I guess it's just a preference thing.

I was curious about this same website.  I was considering ordering a couple of these sticks.  Is it difficult to swap them into a 'stock' comp stick?  Any disadvantage/advantage?

Just FYI, RetroBlast did a review of them [here (http://retroblast.arcadecontrols.com/reviews/DragonSticks-11202006-02.html)].

Just an update for everyone:  I did order a few of these and they finally came in.  After using them for the past couple of weeks I can honestly say I highly prefer them over the standard happs bat top and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Also, thanks franco for the stainless dust washers!
