Title: DVI Cable or Adapter
Post by: mr_doles on January 19, 2009, 06:33:40 pm
Has any one used a DVI to RCA cable (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023504&p_id=2508&seq=1&format=1#largeimage) or a DVI to Component Video Adapter (http://sewelldirect.com/dvivideoadapter.asp).

I saw links for NVida and ATI cards but mine is an "integrated Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 950 with integrated DVI with dual-monitor support".  I have a Ultra Small Form Factor optiplex with a Intel 945 Express chipset with a 28-hole DVI connector.  There are no expansion slots.

They will only work if your display adapter supports outputting the video signal onto the right pins of the plug.

Which is basically older ATI cards and that's about it.

Newer VNidia cards also have component output capability through what appears to be an S-Video plug (but isn't).
