Title: How to rename GBA roms? SOLVED!
Post by: vetteguy112233 on January 16, 2009, 11:23:47 pm
I just acquired the US version of ALL GBA roms. They are named in numerical order like:

0001 - A
0002 - A
0003 - B

I dont want my emulator displaying them by number, so does anyone know of a program that will get rid of the # and leave just the name so I can sort them by ROM name?

There are different GBA collections, one of them which is example that one I have, Advancscene one, which I used in my FE. The collection I have did not match the screenshots I found in other source.

The only problem with offlinelist, is it might not been updated with newest roms, but it a great utility.

Otherwise in MultiFE does not need to rename these files, since it allready support this scheme of filenames and don't show them numbered.

I found a FREE program that renamed my 2400+ files in 5 seconds.

It looks confusing at first, but once you select the folder where the files to be renamed are located. All you have to do is use SECTION 5 of this program and tell it to remove the first X amount of characters. I had to remove 7 to get rid of the numbers, dash and spaces like this (0140 - )

I hope this will help someone else. This program has TONS of other cool features.
