Title: Flush Mount Trackball Question
Post by: Punisher on January 16, 2009, 06:32:42 pm
I am building a new cp and my trackball is going to be flush mounted.  My overlay is going to be a Formica and I will not have any Plexiglas over the top.  I have a 3 inch trackball with a mounting bracket.  My thoughts are to remove all of the paint from the top of the mount and set it in the cp just below flush.  Then I thought about putting a thin layer of Bondo to make it flush.  The question is will the contact cement even stick to the bondo?  Or if you have a better way to do this please advise.

Get the Groovy Game Gear high mount kit.  It works great and looks great.  You'll need a router.  Basically, you just take the plastic top off the trackball casing and modify your mdf CP to be the top.  Everything ugly is below the panel and the trackball is sticking up nice and high and easy to roll.  No Bondo required.   It will also be much easier to change out the trackball should you ever need to.
