Title: Connecting PC through SCART-to-COMPOSITE. Very bad image. Philips KR684.

OK, this is very confusing.
I have an old Philips KR684 900 series (KL9A chassis) which has a SCART socket.
When I first got it, I used a SCART to S-VIDEO adapter, tried to hook up my PC, but the image had bad v-hold problems. This is when I tried every button I could on the TV and the remote, and this is when I un-tuned the AV channel.

I have now attempted to hook up the PC with a SCART-to-COMPOSITE adapter. When I search through the channels, I can sometimes pick up regular channels, and on one particular channel, there is also the image of my PC desktop, ghosted on the top. The image has lots of artifacts and sync issues, but it does recognize it.

This part is what's confusing:
At the back of the TV, next to the SCART socket, there is a switch. One side is 'INT TV' and the other is 'EXT SCART'. When I flick it to SCART, it can never pick up any signal from anything. (Although it DID before I messed around with the remote). The only time I get the ghosted/mixed-up image is when it is set on TV. The image is also affected by the aerial, so if I have the ghosted image on the screen, and I bump the aerial, it will sometimes lose it. Basically it's very temperamental and there is never a position that is a "good position to pick up an image".

Just curious, why not go VGA to SCART?  There are instructions for making the cable stickied in this forum.  The picture should look identical to a real arcade monitor that way too.

I have created a VGA to SCART cable, but I'm unsure if it actually works. I tried testing it before, but got nothing because of the state of the TV (and maybe the cable?)

This way I have a definite signal going to the TV.

There should be a button on the remote to take the tv over to AV mode. If you have a scart to composite adapter it may be wired for the wrong way so you are trying to force the video signal in thru the out door so to speak, and its conflicting with the output of the tuner causing that mixed up mess you are seeing.

confirm the wiring of the scart adapter, and try on the remote to find the AV selection, some philips would let you go down from channel 0 thru all the AV ins.
