Title: Graphic card requirements
Post by: greyhound35 on January 08, 2009, 09:20:21 pm
HI All,

I'm in the process of selecting my PC for use in my mame cabinet.  i'm planning on using an intel e8400 (which should be plenty powerful enough).

My question is will a 512MB Nvidia GF 9400GT PCI-E card be sufficient for mame and other emulators.  I seem to recall that the graphics card has little affect on the [performance of mame, however not sure for other emus.

Oh, mods...if i've posted in the wrong forum, please advise

Cheers

More then enough. Onboard graphics like GMA 950 is enough too. Or some really cheap 7300GT. Maybe you can find a simple mobo that includes video. A shuttle SG31G2 is an example that accepts the E8400 and has all other stuff built in.
