Title: How do I add button support to an electric ice trackball?
Post by: ivwshane on January 08, 2009, 03:42:45 am
I plan on using the electric ice's support for buttons but I'm not sure how it's supposed to be wired. I see four posts on it, L,MR, and another post (it kind of looks like a top).

I'm assuming I connect the L,M,R, to the NO of the buttons I want to use but do I daisy chain the other post to the com posts on the buttons?

That is correct.  It's a common ground setup, just like your normal button interface.

You basically have an optiwiz (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_85&products_id=260), with (G)round, (L)eft, (M)iddle, (R)ight.  The "G" pin is the buttons common ground.

edit: too late  :)
