Title: pico projectors: possible solution for non-crt 4:3 screens

Pico projectors are going to become more and more popular over the next couple years.

Pros:

• 4:3 resolutions
• short throw (some as little as 8 inches
• very light (my billabs 27" weighs a metric ton)
• dvi and hdmi inputs

Cons:

• will take awhile before we see anything better than 1000:1 contrast ratios
• require you make a custom fit rearprojection screen
• all games would have to be scaled/fixed res/refresh by mame(ui)

I've been thinking the same thing. Once they get bright enough and the resolution gets up to a more usable res im going to try it out.

Do you mean to use one in a cab?

Thats what I was thinking. Make a rear projection screen. A guy did that on here with his marquee.
