does a computer see an I-Pac controller as a keyboard or as a joystick?

Keyboard.

Thanks!

Also, since it shadows over the primary keyboard, you can use both at the same time (hitting H on the keyboard and the input for Alt on the Ipac will register as an alt-H). This is useful as you can daisy chain Ipacs(after programming the inputs for different keys) and get more than the total number of inputs available from just one controller. Also, the Ipac (as well as the keywiz) are set up to the default MAME keyboard inputs, so they are ready right out of the box to play MAME.

Thanks. I'm prepping myself as I wait for my first I-Pacs to show up in the mail.

Cools. I still say you should have gone with minipacs tho :P (With the harness that makes connection to buttons really easy)
