Title: Wall Mame (Early Stages)
Post by: zabouth on January 06, 2009, 08:59:10 pm
Hello. This is my first post. I just want to share my plan with you. Get any feedback and tips or Constructive criticism. The Plan is not to build a cabinet but more of a wall mounted Station. I have 4 basic ideas.
The PC Will be stored in the block  at the bottom (mini-itx).
The screen with be mounted to the 2 posts without any frame.

I will update this post as I finalise the plans over the next few days.

Interesting. My first impression is that you may be standing a little close. What size monitor are you planning on using?

Standing to close is a worry to me and the screen being too high.

The screen is a 26' Wide Screen HDTV.

I Think I will have to mock it up in cardboard and see how if feels to stand at.

Are the controls going to be able to fold away, so they don't stick out from the wall so much?

That is a good idea! Maybe have it on a hinge so that it can fold. Would be a nice touch!

or totally detach... so it looks like/can be used as a TV on the wall. You could then drop on one or both control panels, control panels with different layouts (ie trackball, steering wheels, jukebox controls, keyboard and mouse for FPS, whatever).   ;)
