Title: A nice green tint.

I recently bought a working cab, with what I assume is the original monitor. Anyway, the colors on the monitor are pretty faded, and everything's sortta greeenish... As far as I can tell, the only adjustments for the monitor are things like size, position, contrast, and brightness.

Should there be adjustments for tint, color balance, or even RGB somewhere- or is the monitor just old?

Knowing the make/model of monitor, as well as a picture of the screen, would be helpful.

Oh, yes, of course! Sorry  :banghead:

The monitor (as far as I can tell) is a WG 25K7193, running a Zenith EIA 1101 tube. Those numbers could be way off- there's stickers and numbers everywhere back there.

Here's some screenshots too- mind you I'm no expert at taking pictures of a screen. I guess it's more of a blueish-green tint. And you can enjoy the nice screen burn too. ;)

Anyway, I don't know if it just needs degaussing (I doubt) or a cap kit, or even just some adjustments. Whatever the case, I just hope the monitor's not on it's last leg.  :-\

Oh, I also wanted to add.... I noticed a sticker on the frame that said something along the lines of "120V 60Khz max". Does that mean that this monitor can actually handle a 60Khz video signal? As in, I wouldn't need special software to run Mame on it? Or is that just something else...?

Check again...it says "60 Hz" not "60KHz".

It's hard to say from those pictures.  Street Fighter has a video test mode with color stripes, can you post a picture of that screen?

Oh, a green tint may be caused by the green drive on the neckboard being turned up too high.

Alright, here's the color test screen. Again, it's hard to capture colors truthfully with a camera- especially if you don't know what you're doing.

Also, I did find 6 more knobs on the back of the monitor- R DRIVE, R CUT OFF, G DRIVE, etc etc etc.
So you're saying I should turn down the green drive and see if that does it? Or basically, just trying to adjust the colors with those... Anything in particular I should watch out for? Can I damage anything, or should I go to town and find a setting that looks good?

Yes, turn the green drive down just a hair.

Alright, well I played around with the red, green, and blue "drive" knobs and got a pretty decent picture!
Looks fine to me. It's a tad dim, but that's just coz I'm running a PC with no video amplifier.... Anyway, that's another matter.

Thank you for the help! I'm just glad no costly repairs and/or replacements are needed!
