Ok, here's the deal... My daughter and I are looking into building a flight cockpit "cab" with HOTAS controls in it (Saitek X52) and modeled after a MKII Viper from BSG, but I have a question about some controls that hopefully someone can have some input on. I was thinking that I may want to put in a couple banks of square lit buttons (and some transparent labels in them to label the function) for various controls, such as power, or lighting, or programable functiontions via a keywiz or something for flight controls in whatever sim. So the question is, does anyone know where I can get such momentary square illuminated pushbuttons, and is there a way to set it up to where if I push it once and it lights, and I push it again and the light goes out? I don't think and on/off locking switch would work well with a keyboard encoder...

I don't know of any current software that does what you want (toggle on/off), but if you have any coding experience, there are function libraries available for both the LED-Wiz and PAC-Drive LED controllers. For a non-software option you could use low voltage relays.

Check out the U-HID (http://www.u-hid.com/). It is an extremely configurable USB controller where you can configure each of the 50 connectors to tasks such as push-buttons, trackballs, analog controls, lighting control, and you can configure a connector to be both a push-button and a toggle on/off led control.
