Title: Monitor Components
Post by: jconstanza on January 05, 2009, 04:04:35 pm
Does anyone have a list or something on commonly parts that are replaced on monitors. Mainly looking for
Wells Gardner            Neotec                               Kortek
U2000s                       NT-25 series                     KT-2914F
U3000s                       NT-27 series                     KT-2914DF
U5000s                       NT-500DX                         KT-2901
K7400s
K7500s
D9200s
D9400s
K7000s

Am I crazy for asking this question?

not quite what u r looking for . but,

the most common failure in electronic devices is the electrolytic capacitor.

why ?    engineered failure --i.e. because the  :censored: mfgrs put 'lytic caps as close to a heat source as possible . so, they hope when the unit breaks down you will replace it , rather than repair it ... :soapbox:

next item is semiconductors . transistors/diodes , ics.    voltage/current surges , component fatigue, excess heat
are killers here .  victims in monitors are the HOT , IHVT , driver xistor. sweep processing , smps etc....

semiconductor failures will frequently destroy resistors . many burnt beyond value recognition etc...
a schematic/parts list is then a must..
