I've got a Scale model of the showcase Cabinet I am going to build.
I saw one that had a Plexiglas sheet cover the entire face of the monitor part of cab.
Image is attached.
It looks cool but how would the sound come out?
I can't imagine I would drill holes or something.
But I really like how it looks :-[
here is the current progress of the scale model

One thing missing how about the scale model of yourself playing it.

well in my showcase i didnt put the plexi over the speakers. i made my housing so that the speaker sections were separate. see below.

its a little ghetto and probably not as precise as you want, but it works for me. so anyway, i got some speaker cloth from a site (long time ago...dont remember) and just made a little plank and put speaker cloth around it. then i mounted the plank to my enclosure. that way i could put speakers behind it and wouldnt have to do anything drastic. check it...

Another idea is to have the speakers on the control panel. I bought the plastic tub and electronics from a Gauntlet Legends showcase cab and built the rest. I decided to use the built in speakers so I could make it a little narrower:

Most showcases I've seen have the speakers on the side. Here's mine:
