Guys,
I need a full copy of Windows 98 SE for an old computer. Anyone have one to sell?
PM me if you do. Thanks and Happy New Year!

If you already have a serial why not just get a torrent of it?
-
good Gods! why would you even defile the old machine with something as grim as WinME-screwup-longtime?
-
You are better off with Win 98SE

Does Win 98SE have built-in support for USB?

I remember Win ME (barely). I had it on my computer for about an hour, then threw the disc in the trash, and switched back to Win 98 SE.

Yes se is better then me in every single way. It takes usb1.0 and even has good support for pretty decent components.

I think I have an old copy of 98 around somewhere that I bought way back when. I don't think it's the SE version though, although I'm sure you can probably find the service packs online to upgrade it. If I can find it you can have it for free. Just pay the postage. If you're interested let me know.

I seem to remember 98SE needs a further service pack to get USB support... could be wrong, though.
Either way downloading an operating system off a torrent site is a horribly bad idea. Talk about potential for impossible to find malware!

I believe the first version had USB support, although it was touch and go as far as what devices worked. I wonder if Windows Update would still work on something like 98. I'm tempted to install it on a virtual machine on my Mac and see.

MS officially killed support for 98 a while back. No more updates though I think you can get what was officially available as a downloadable service pack.

I haven't heard back from the guy that started this thread but I'm sure the copy I have, along with the downloadable service packs, should work fine.

I have an se disc and apparently it's only an upgrade from win95, so make sure it's stand-alone. As for usb support, I don't recall having any issues, though I did with some video cards and '98 drivers not loading.
