Title: Simple, simple, simple!!! Please help
Post by: Blacksmith on December 31, 2008, 12:23:37 pm
???Simple for you, hard for me!  Can someone please duplicate this background art for me so I can use it in photoshop to create a new instruction card for my pinball machine?  Basically I am just looking for (close to the same colors) orange and yellow alternating stripes on a 45 degree slant.  The stripes are approximately 1" wide.  I am horrible at figuring out photoshop.
Thanks

yeah, that's me!  thanks for the reply.  I'm just messing around with my games and the old nasty, dingy white instruction card that is original on the game needs replaced and I kind of wanted to spruce it up.  I'm not too good with photoshop, but I get by.  I generally try to find a picture that I like and adjust the dimensions and colors to my liking and add some text if neccessary, but find it near impossible to create stuff from scratch like the basic orange and yellow bands.  I'd kind of like to create it myself, but am perplexed as to how to make the bands and then slant them.  In my head it seems so easy, but the software is leaving me hanging.  Is this something that you could point me in the right direction to with photoshop?

Just make them up and down, then rotate 45°. After that, add your text.

Art like that is best made in Illustrator/Freehand/CorelDraw/Inkscape/InDesign or another vector-imager. Easier, tack sharp (no pixels) and with tiny filesizes of 100kb or so.

You probably need to shrink this
