I'm looking for screen shots for NES, SNES, and Sega and have had mixed success finding all the titles I need. I have about half. Ideally I want to download all screen shots so I only have to add the rom when updating games. I have lots of HD space, so no issues there. The Screen Shot Archive has lots of them but the renaming process (they use goodtools) has been hard. I tried a file name editor and that worked OK. I'm still missing on some of the names, tho. Is there a place that has screen shot sets that haven't been renamed? Thanks.

Thanks. Any reason not to go with the videos? I imagine it slows things down a bit and takes a lot more space.

I checked the site and those files have the (U)'s and (EU)'s and what nots at the end of the file. They are much easier to clean up than the ones I got, though. Now I'm wondering if my roms are poorly named. Should my roms have those denotations at the ends of the file names?

No-Intro Screenshot Archive (http://no-intro.dlgsoftware.net/main.php?lang=1) - These use the No-Intro naming system and they are all named via CRC. They have a renamer application that you can use to go from CRC name to No-Intro name pretty quickly.

It really depends on the front end that you are going to use... Most use either video(avi) or screenshots. It doesn't really slow things down unless you are on a really old computer. They do take up a lot more space than a screenshot though. They also look much better than a simple screenshot.

A lot of the old emumovies are named using the old No-Intro system (U), (EU) etc... Circo is working on auditing all of his sets and converting them to the new No-Intro system (USA, Euro) etc.
It doesn't sound like your roms are part of any set... It sounds like you just downloaded from various rom websites. Most of those do not use any of the naming systems available. Using one of the naming systems (No-Intro or GoodTools) allows you to quickly audit your roms against dat files and look for missing games, incorrectly named roms and other things.

I tried using GoodTools and couldn't figure it out. I'll try No-Intro and report back. So, what you're saying is if I download No Intro screen shots and also their software I can use their software to rename my roms to match the screen shots?
Also, I'm using a 1.8 Pent. 4 but will eventually transfer the stuff over to a Pent 3 as slow as 550 mhz. So, on the Pent 3 would you say still are best? Thanks for the help.

Actually, don't worry about the rom renaming. I'll get (legally) purchase the rights to a few roms instead of using a mish mash of roms, which I think is what I got. Anyone feel free to weigh in on if that Pentium III is going to get burried by the videos.

Also, it looks like the videos are purchase CD only. Is that the case?

They shoud play fine on your p3.
