Hey guys. I have a 20 inch Sony Xbrite LCD. It 20" and native res is 1366*768 I believe. The problem is that it makes my eyes hurt and really effects my vision just after a little while. I read on the net to crank the refresh rate to like 85 hertz. Well it won't allow me to do that at the size of 1366*768. However, if I go down to 1024*768 I am able to turn the hertz up to 85 and beyond and my eyes don't hurt anymore when I do that! :)
So it like I have a 17" monitor or something...two big blank spots on either side...that's how I have to run it...or I go blind. Is there anyhting I can do that will allow me to view my full 1366*768 without going blind? Maybe I can adjust the hertz another way?
Here are the complete specs as I know them...
Display
XBRITE™ LCD Technology : Yes
Screen or Display Technology : WXGA LCD10
Screen Size : 20"
Resolution : 1366x768

Look at the specs. There should be a table in the manual of all possible resolutions and refersh rates. Regardless, 1360x768 isn't much different than 1024x768. Is the former the max resolution of the monitor? Also, is the geometry adjustable in the OSD?

Err... I'm really curious now!
Why does the LCD hurt your eyes?
The "tip from the net" actually only applies to CRT monitors, as they "flicker".
There won't be any difference between your LCD run at 85Hz or the LCD run at 60Hz!

Pshaw, speak for yourself. My vision's actually gotten better in the last couple months. In any case, let that be a lesson to you folks. Sometimes it is your body.
