Title: Dropped my Turbotwist 2 - Help!
Post by: drawfull on December 30, 2008, 10:34:20 am
Oops, I dropped my TT2 and the black part that the PCB plugs into has come away from the spindle in that it can move slightly up and down. So when I spin, the bit with the PCB connector spins and (possibly) tangles the wire

Is there a way to fix this or do I need to buy a new one?

You need to send it back to be repaired.  Don't spin it in this state!  It could damage it further.

As long as the internals are still ok, the only cost will be actual shipping fees.

I take it some sort of epoxy is used to hold it together?  Just curious.  I was looking over the two I purchased and don't see an obvious way to disassemble them.  I have to resist the urge to take things apart sometimes to avoid destroying them.  8)

Thanks Randy, top stuff!

I will mail it in the next few days. Is there a reference number?

No, I'll be watching for it.

There's virtually no way to get them apart and then back together again (working) without a special tool and a few tricks learned from doing it several times, so it's better that way ;)
