Ok here's the deal - I've got some friends coming over tonight so I'm under a time crunch. I've just got my new computer up & running. I installed windows 98 SE fine - Mame fine - I hooked up my new Creative Inspire 2.1 2500 speakers & no sound!!!!! :'( I figure maybe it doesn't have the correct driver installed so I go to creatives website but there is no driver for this set for Windows 98. I go to my System setup - PCI devices & its got a ? - ? PCI Multimedia Audio device I try to install a driver for it from my Windows 98 disk no luck It can't find one. Now I know I'm showing my stupidity, however I don't know what to do as this is my 1st time not buying a preconfigured computer. I tried out an older set of speakers that I know work & they didn't have any sound either. WTH am I doing wrong. I'm really desperate, so if anyone got take a moment of their time & help me I'd be forever greatful. :D
One Totally lost Newbie!!!

What make is your sound card? You will need a driver for the sound card not the speakers.
-
It's onboard sound, MB = MSI KT3 V333.
-
Check out MSI's webpage for the audio drivers.

The correct driver should be on the CD that came with your motherboard.

YEEEESSSSSS!!!! That did it I had previous problem where I had to reinstall RE: video, so why should audio be any different - The Cd that came with the motherboard did it. Thanks (pats Kaustik on the back) Kaustik!
Problem solved - although I'm still a moron.
