Title: D9200 problem/issue
Post by: PkingRoch on June 21, 2003, 11:31:40 am
I was able to mount my monitor last night and hook it up for some make-shift playing and I had a problem almost immediately.  The monitor kept flashing on and off.  This only seemed to happen in 800x600 and it didn't matter if I was in MAME or Windows XP.  640x480 worked great for MAME, but it makes Windows XP pretty difficult to use and that is a must.  This monitor is brand new, so it should be fixed free of charge, but I was wondering if anyone had seen this before.  I thought the video card might be suspect, but it worked just fine on a computer monitor.

OK - so it might now be the monitor.

I have hooked my laptop up to the monitor, set the resolution ato 800x600 at 60hz and the monitor has been flawless.

Could it be the video card? I know it's a cheap GeForce based off-brand card (ACO MX-400).  Has anyone had issues with this?

i have a d9200 and i use a (pulled from a compaq presario)geforce 2 mx440(?).  I haven't had problems with 800x600.  I use 640x480 anyway.. 800x600 is blurry and tough to read.

Well something was a little strange.  When I tried again yesterday, the card drove the monitor without a problem, not a flash in sight.  I have a one-year to figure it out I guess.

Well, looks like the problem is back (I should have known better).  Any ideas on this one?

Try setting your video mode to 60Hz when running at 800x600.

It is set to 800x600 at 60Hz.  It starts out OK, but the longer you stay at that resolution, the more it flashes off.
