hey guys, i'm running mame .124 here that is patched for hi score support. most of the games we play are working fine, however space zap is not retaining high scores. i looked through the hiscore.dat file and it is listed there, and there is a spacezap.hi in the hi folder of mame, yet when we launch the game, the high scores arent shown...is there any way to make this work?
this is one of our favorite games here at the office and we would love to have this working.
thanks guys

does your version of mame have a "save game state on exit" option? it would be under the Miscellaneous tab when you right click on Space Zap in the mame menu. You may have to switch to mameui32.
Space Zap is one of my favorites, too. I had the same problems with high scores when using mame32.
Anyone at your office beat 176,000?

um...no right clicking here...this is the command line version of mame, using MALA as a front end. As for the high score, i dont know what they are, because they always disappear when we exit the game.

thanks for pushing me in the right direction. i created a spacezap.ini file with the autosave enabled and now it is saving the high scores. and i just set the high score at186,000, to anwswer your other question
