Title: Ipac question...
Post by: Todd H on December 23, 2008, 01:07:49 pm
I have a question for Andy or anyone that uses an Ipac...

Can you change the keycode values on the fly? Say I'd like to send a new keycode setting before launching a PC game batch file and then set it back to its original settings after exiting the game. Is this possible?

To my knowledge, yes, I'm just not certain of the exact commands. Probably the program name with the name of the profile plus extension after it.

Yes, you do this by running WinIPAC using a command line and it will re-program the board in the background, using pre-configured IPC config files.
Re-programming only takes a fraction of a second so the process is quick. You can set up batch files for each configuration and use the command-line features of many front-ends to run each one.

May I suggest the minipac (also from andy), esp the lower cost one. IE the minipac without the analogue feature, but with the wire harness.

It is long known that I am a "pusher" of the minipac, and for those of us who want a good thing that is easy to configure, I hence-forth push the minipac.

Minipac FTW! (@Andy, why no minipac4? Would it be hard to do, or is there too little demand?)

I love my minipac.
