I've emailed scott at mamemarquees twice, one to scott@ and another to info@ (like it says on the website), and I've sent a byoac personal message. Both emails bounced, and he's not yet replied to my personal message.
Then I filled in emdkay's contact form on their website, but no reply.
I've been waiting for about a week now... maybe I'm just impatient, but its frustrating to get no replies (not even an acknowledgment) when I'm trying to give them some business...
Has anyone else managed to contact any of these guys recently?
Or can someone offer a suggestion of elsewhere to get my cab's artwork printed (I'm in the UK btw)?
Thanks! :(

Arrgh, posted in wrong forum! Please feel free move!
Now I'm even more frustrated! ;)

I emailed Scott a couple of weeks ago about trying to get Pinky's artwork done in time for Xmas. I never got a reply either :(
AFAIK Scott does the artwork in his spare time which is why there is often a backlog. An email would have been nice though but I guess it is the holidays and all.
I was going to email emdkay but I don't think they do the tough polycarb protected graphics that Mamemarquees do.
We could do with a good UK source for printing that doesn't charge extortionate prices. I had a search on the forum a week or two a go but I didn't come up with much.

I used emdkay for the marquee on my Dad's juke and was very happy with it. As Franco (the man) stated, it is not a durable but works great if it is going behind plexi. emdkay was a pleasure to work with and understood the timeline I was under and made it happen. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I grabbed this from MM's FAQ, its a good start.
Q. What is your side art printed on?
A. It is printed on tough ADHESIVE backed Vinyl and is then laminated with a luster laminate. Just Peal and Stick! The sideArt can be printed in any size between 41” x 80”.
Q. What are your bezel printed on?
A. The Bezels are printed on tough polypropylene (banner material) and then laminated with a luster laminate. It is made to be sandwiched between plexi, or mounted behind the glass using posterboard behind it to support it. If requested, we can also print them on Adhesive vinyl to be mounted to the front of the glass. All Bezels are shipped with the center intact and need to be cut out. We have had issues with bezel damaging in shipment if the center is cut out.
Q. What Material do you print the marquee on?
A. PREMIUM and ULTIMATE
The PREMIUM marquee is the same award winning material that we have been printing on for over 3 years. It is is a special photo paper that has no paper grain, so it back lights great. It uses a UV dye ink that is rated for 10yr.
The new ULTIMATE Marquee is for people who want it all! They are printed on the same type of back light material that you would find on today’s arcades and then laminated with a texured laminate for a great finish. The Ultimate is printed on a true backlit film and uses 100-200 yr pigment ink.
I know ex_directory (another UK BYOAC user) had his whole cab covered in coloured vinyl that he had printed. He's not been active for a while but I'll email him to see if he can help. I'll shoot waveryder a PM too.

Just to throw in my two cents....
I have four marquees and a CPO from Emdkay and he's always great to deal with.
I liked his work enough to plug his site in my sig.
Also, I have sideart from MameMarquees and it's pretty frickin' sweet and sturdy as hell.

Hey Ginsu, I've just been looking at your CP in another thread :)
Do you have polycarb/acrylic sheet over your artwork? It doesn't look like it from your pics but I wasn't sure. If not, how is the artwork holding up? I don't need anything super hardwearing for Pinky but obviously It would be a bonus. I may get some quotes for the different material to see what the difference in price is.

cheers franco
i must be able to find someone for this, ill ask around with work people, see if anyones got ideas/contacts for me

There are no pics of the CPO from Emdkay that I have. What you're referring to is just a poster. The one not pictured is a Neo Geo overlay. My marquee (Tron-style MAME) on that cabinet IS from Emdkay, though.

I wonder why mamemarquees have such a hard time meeting demand. thought he was making good money out of this. anybody know what happend to mamemarquees? I still need more artwork done for another cabinet and they are best of the best.

It is just me... sometimes I get hung up on multi-part, long questions like Jimbo has and I set them aside to fully answer them, then I get caught up in other orders and lose track of them.
Jimbo, I replied to you via IM, I will answer any followup questions promptly.
I try to answer most of the common questions in my FAQ, located here:

cant imagine well ever find a perfect alternative to US sources, but if ever there's a need for something immediate or sadly the exchange rates making it a bit of a sting it would be nice to find something in the uk thats close.

Hi guys
Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread but wanted to add a bit of news here. I'm also in the UK and looking to get my CPO printed. I'm going to go with Gremlin Solutions (http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/machineartwork.php (http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/machineartwork.php)) - they use ulta-sticky adhesive and polycarb laminate. I've not sent them my CPO artwork yet (still designing it!) but they printed my marquee a while ago and the quality was fantastic - looks wicked with the backlight. Price seems reasonable too given by the quote I've been given.
I'll keep you posted on the CPO.
Cheers all

Get a price off Nigel @ arcadestickers.co.uk too. I have used him and his work is great and very reasonably priced too.
