Title: KLOV Down?

Oh well, either way... I'm glad it's not just me who can't get through. I had just changed some port settings on my router when it went down, so I was try'ng to figure out WTF I did to block the site.

Post by: shardian on December 17, 2008, 02:52:32 pm: While I appreciate the KLOV site, it seems to be managed poorly. Maybe it is a tough job, but here at BYOAC, Saint and his team manage just fine. Maybe that is the problem over there - the Admin tries to do everything himself.

Post by: Scucci on December 17, 2008, 03:09:00 pm: Yeah, they have some problems over there... but as a classic arcade forum... it's pretty hard to beat. The WTB and WTS sections are focused more on classics, as is the repair/help section.

I lurk around here every once and a while, and it's mainly people that just want to build MAME machines... doesn't really appeal to me too much.

It's unfortunate that some of the old-schooler dedicated arcade guys can't see the benefit that MAME has brought to the community. PERSONALLY I think MAME has done much more good than harm to the dedicated arcade community. It's certainly brought more people in to the fold...

Granted, I know more machines are saved in the long run... but those just don't seem to stick out to me as much as the total screw ups that get their hands on classic cabinets and bend them over like they just dropped the soap in the prison shower.
