Title: How to finish off T-moulding?
Post by: klutzo on March 05, 2002, 01:46:32 am
???

Is there some sort of Clip that allows you to finish off t-moulding?  i.e. when wrapping the t-moulding around a Control Panel, you need to complete the loop somehow.

I seem to remember some sort of metal clip that allowed you to hide the join o fthe T-moulding.  but then again the last time I looked for that I htink I was 12.  =>

www.t-molding.com has a bunch of tools, might be worth checking it out.

You could just wrap it around the control panel so that the molding starts and ends in the back. That way the joint will be at the back and hidden. For molding on the sides of the cab, start and end it on the bottom of the cabinet, so the joint is hidden underneath the cab.

Start where the seam will be hidden from view, and to keep it from coming loose at the seam, just use a staple gun to join the two ends.

I have a wierd non standard cab.  It's actually a podium.

so my CP actually rests ONTOP of the keyboard area.  In otherwords I need a way of finishing off the T-moulding.

I know this is going to sound like a hack, but have you considered strategically placed electrical tape over the joint?

Well.. good suggestion... Black 'lectrical tape.  But I think I'll look around for a clip of some sort.  I know there's bound to be something out there... I jsut have to find one!  =>

I worked at Alladens Arcade in mesa AZ for A year . on our rental Arcades (schools, party's and what not.) we used bondo and model paint to seal the seam. bondo  will set up in hours and will be pliable long enough for you to smooth out the ruff edges. it will be very hard to spot the flaw and believe me no one but you will see it. I have a fixer upper house and do all my own work. I see ALL my little mistakes but nobody else does. Try not to point them out. ;)
