Hi all,
Does anyone know if there is a d-pad that is designed for an arcade control panel, ideally one that could go into a standard pushbotton hole?
Or, a very small joystick to server the same purpose? I am converting my Rush the Rock sit down racer to an Xbox powered system, and i need a D-pad for menu navigation as not all games let you use the wheel for navigation.
Thanks for any help.

a small joystick would be best

I can't seem to find one, I would like one the size of an anolog joystick on an xbox controller. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how big these actually are, but the name sounds interesting:

or if you could find a way to mount it, maybe this one

that website looks to have a few promising options:

How do you plan on mounting it? I think putting it on the steering column like a gear shift would look cool, but maybe near the gear shift would be better.

Thanks for the help. I found this joystick online and it looks to be a good match for what I want. http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store/p/3255-Mini-Joy-Stick.aspx?feed=Froogle
It is small enough to put on the dashboard. I will use it as a digital D-pad instead of an analog joystick, but it should work. I plan to mount it near the abort button. Here is a picture of the dash I found at Arcadehits.net.

I plan to add several more buttons so that I have all of the Xbox buttons remapped. The shifter paddles will be in a modified shifter in the standard shifter location on the cabinet.
Thanks again for the input.

That is perfect!!! Even a good color!! I love you man... you are my new best friend. ;-)
I just ordered two. I really appreciate the help everyone!

let us know how these things work out, i have a future project that may benefit from something like this, but i didn't want to order one from europe if i didn't knwo much about it.

Wow! That's kind of neat and blasphemous at the same time

I will let you all know how they work and document the entire project as well. I actually ordered 4, better to have two spares; plus they were on sale. $42 for for shipped from Germany... not to shabby.
I really am excited now, that was the last major obstacle in this build, next to getting them in my basement...
Thanks again, severdhed!

That's cool, nice find :)
I didn't think something like that would have existed.

You know what would be really neat? if you could mount that so it was under your left thumb when you had your hands on the steering wheel. You'd have to go to a machine shop and get a little box built but that would be really neat.
