Title: Problems with instant sheller
Post by: newtoemu on December 14, 2008, 11:35:46 pm: I'm trying to get my cab. finished up but I'm having a problem with instant sheller. I have installed everything and it boots up with no sign of windows then when the fe (Hyperspin) is supposed to start nothing but a black screen shows up.

I have opened task manager and it says Hyperspin is running but there is no sign of it. Am I missing something?

I guess it is a problem with Hyperspin. I remember to have seen post about H.S displaying only blackscreen ( that have been fixed now, i think ), but may be there is still something in certain case.

I would report that on H.S forum.

Post by: headkaze on December 15, 2008, 06:02:26 am: When you start a FE up using Instant Sheller you are infact replacing the shell (explorer.exe) with the FE. Not only that but all the software and programs that are sheduled to boot on startup don't get run at all.

You can instead try to launch HyperSpin by placing a link to the exe in the startup folder (Documents and Settings\UserName\Start Menu\Programs\Startup). Another way would be to launch HyperSpin as a service. Take a look at the BYOAC Wiki Utilities (http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Utilities) page for two such programs that allow you to do that.
