Post by: digitaldj on December 13, 2008, 06:47:04 pm
Hello All!

Is there a program out there that can auto organize single mp3 files into artist folders?

Thanks,
Kevin

Tag & Rename

On the Rename Files tab
For File Name Mask, type "%1\%1 - %2" without the " "
And it will create folders for every artist and rename the songs to Artist - Title

If you want to include any other data, just choose the applicable variable.

That's assuming you have the proper ID3 tags.

Well, the good think about T&R is that you can also fill the tags from the filenames by creating a format string for selected files.

so if you have a whole bunch of files that are like (Artist) - Title.mp3, you can create a format string like (%1) - %2.mp3 and have the values filled in.  If not, then get to work on the tags, you really need a clean library with tags to do useful stuff with your music.
