Title: Mame 128: 6 key gives 2 credits automatically
Post by: Pitou on December 11, 2008, 04:02:39 pm
Hello,

I know this may not be the right place for this, but Mametesters Forum is down at the moment.

I just noticed that the 6 key adds 2 credits automatically instead of 1.

I saw the issue in Arkanoid and Super Sprint in particular. I didn't test many games.

Is that normal?

Any suggestion?

Thank you.

Pitou!

Might be the game. If you can go into the game settings screen, or if it has dip switch settings in the MAME menu, you might be able to adjust that. "6" in Defender gives 4 credits because the 2nd coin slot was for SBA dollars. Maybe those games took 50 cent coins? Seems unlikely, but I guess it's possible. :dunno

Sorry, I just realized that I was wrong in my explanation...

This happen when I configure 5 or 6 for 1 player credit.

When I keep them separated it works fine.

Did you also remove the '6' key for P2 credit?  Sounds like it's registering the same coin for both P1 and P2.

That sounds like his problem.  MAME is looking at '6' and, seeing it assigned in left and right coin slots, will quickly click 2 credits.  If you set coin 2 to 'none', it will work as you want.  Not a bug on MAME's end - simply a configuration issue.

Sorry guys, you were right, it was a configuration issue.

Thanks for the hints.
