Title: Full posts in RSS feeds?
Post by: Paul Olson on December 11, 2008, 12:03:03 pm
How can I get the full posts to display in the feedreader? I usually only get a line or two of the message.

Thanks

That's how RSS feeds work.

I have rss feeds for other forums, and they display the full post, including images.

Well technically I guess you could just put the whole article in the description. I do that for a client of mine too. Still, it's not how RSS is supposed to work. It should give you a list of links to articles and with each link a short description.

RSS can deliver whatever, which is the beauty of it.

By including full text in the feed its reducing website visits, which reduces advertising revenue so I am suprised that you are seeing many places do that.
