I tried some tables which require roms such as 'X-Files' but when I 'Play Table' my screen only shows the ONE part on the scoreboard with the 'lighted/scrolling marque/ led message area' (what is that area called?...the one on newer pinball tables which has extra info going on /tells you how many balls you have/ extra bonuses or bonus rounds or mini games and such?)
What do I need to press to actually see and play the table? So far my screen fills with this area of the scoreboard...
New to Future & Visual Pinball but loving what I am seeing so far! (minus the problem I am having of course!)
Thanks!

You are talking about the DMD. I have a feeling when you setup "vpinmame", you selected "full screen" thinking it meant the table would be in full screen. Not so, that reference in vpinmame refers to the DMD only.
Just run the vpinmame setup exe, select "setup paths" and unselect that option "always run full screen on this display". I believe that option is useful when you're running the DMD on another separate monitor.
Let me know if it worked.

Not sure if that is indeed his issue as I get the same DMD only shown as a full screen image when I run most, yet not all, of my tables.. without the Full Screen checked.

Well I got it working! Thanks Loafmeister!
I uninstalled VP and VPinmame and started over.
I installed VPinmame with the full screen unchecked...
Then reinstalled the Xfiles (table I was having trouble with) table and rom and it works perfectly!
Before I had many tables installed but not checked or played, maybe its possible another table installation messed things up....I am going to check each table as I install it from now on...
But I think the unchecking of the full screen in vpinmame did the trick!!!
But again thanks all is working great!

Have you tried again from scratch? ie: uninstall first, then reinstall?
