Anyone know where to get bill validators on the cheap? I looked at Happ and unless I'm mistaken their cheapest one is $520, yikes.
I don't actually need much validation, it'd be enough to have just something that looks for a piece of paper roughly the size of a bill and then trips some switch if it decides it's close enough.
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone have one for sale?

Is this for home gaming? You could probably make a simple mech with a set of rollers that sucked up anything you put in, then trip a photosensor when it goes by, and dump out coins. I don't know why you would need this for home gaming though... I understand the desire to have a pocket full of actual tokens to put in the games, but I never got much of a kick out of getting change. Maybe check ebay to see if they have any used ones.
Good Luck

I recently picked up Mortal Kombat 4 cab and it has an over/under coin door with two coin inserts and also has a built in bill validator. I don't know what make the coindoor is. Maybe coinex or C.C. Since the cab came with it I guess I'll hook it up just for fun but if it hadn't I don't think I'd go outta my way to find one. Does anybody know what brand coindoors came with Mortal Kombat 4 machines ?

No offence Ken but you're answering questions for people who haven't posted here in over a year. Why all the replies to all these dead posts about coindoor related questions ???
