Well, I was recently installing my new speakers for my PC in my MAME cabinet. I placed the speaker control on the coin return door, and I closed my cabinet. Moved the cabinet back against the wall, plugged in my powerstrip and BAM! Saw a spark; and my monitor went dead. The marquee light is also dead.
I have no idea where to start. I double checked my powerstrip, and it is working. My computer also turns on, but I get nothing from the monitor at all. I haven't really checked anything as far as the monitor goes, as I've been pretty bummed about it over the past couple days.
Any ideas on where to start??
Thanks!

where did the spark come from and have you checked any of the fuses

The sparks looked like they came from near the isolation transformer. There are some wires down there where the power supply once sat. I have not checked any of the fuses yet; I'm assuming the fuses on the monitor board itself??

should be fuses on the transformer input/output and on the monitor chassis
tbh if you have any bare wire down by the transformer its most likely one shorted to earth and the spark you saw was the fuse blowing crapless
make sure any bare wires are capped off/insulated before going any further

Grantspain, thanks for the quick responses. I am going to check the monitor tonight, and hopefully figure out where to start. I'll be sure to post an update as soon i as i see anything!
