Title: Universal STC/Wico Joysicks
Post by: GamingGreg on June 19, 2003, 03:36:58 am
Does anyone know anything about the new Wico Joysticks that I saw listed in their online catalog?  They had one listed as a Universal STC joystick, as was adjustable to be a 2, 4, or 8 way joystick.

Is this joystick any good?  Could this adjuster be modified/hacked to switch from 4 to 8 way from outside the Control Panel?

How does it compare to the Happ joysticks, and the Wico leaf sticks? (Do they still those, as I didn't see them listed in the Wico online catalog?)

The STC series 500 joysticks are made by Suzo. My understanding is that Wico were taken over by Suzo a year or two ago, and the original Wico joysticks are no longer made.

I think the series 500 joysticks are very underrated. They have a short throw and a strong spring. A review of them can be found on Oscar's website.

THe 4-8 way switching is achieved by rotating the restrictor plate 45 degrees (same as the Ultimarc joysticks).

If the 4-8 way switching facility is what interests you then I think the T-Stik would be a better bet.
