i found a working Saturn Emu,
looks like it was compiled between numerous
Emulators and a FE and stuff. looks strange,
but i tested it and it works great. heres where
you can grab it. http://www.geocities.com/ssemupro
click the little square - link under to download it.
**IF I SHOULD NOT POST THIS PLEASE LET ME KNOW**
it contains NO roms or information on obtaining them or anything bad.
-
liks no longer working and i tried a search with no lluck. anychance you could send me the file i'd love to try a saturn game
-
just go to
http://www.geocities.com/ssemupro
and theres a blue square thing click that and it seems to download
-
Be aware that geocities has a very low max through per hour (IIRC, close to 6 MB per hour). Depending on the size of the file, that could be a max of one download per hour (if it was the same size as mame currently is). If you can't get it, wait an hour and try again, then wait another hour and try again, until you can finally get it @ 3 AM. :P

one problem with this emulator its in japanese......... everything! kinda makes it hard to work.Let me know if someone has luck getting it going maybe they can post some tips
-
check my other topic, i just made one with info on how to get it up and running.
-
there's plenty of saturn emulators...lol
-
if i have teh cds that i bought for my saturn, can i just make iso's and play? is this the same as making a psx iso?
-
depends on the emu, some have a proptietory format
-
ya as far as i know it should work, just copy it as a bin and cue file and create a TOC following the instructions in readme.txt i also made another post explaining how to run stuff.
i beleive you can run from the CD Drive if you open SSE and file/CDROM but you still need a TOC file matching that game, so the iso/bin is the best route. plus you may get slow down running from a drive.
be aware i dunno how much it supports. i'v only tried like 2 games, but its the first Satrun Emu i'v ever seen run anything at all at more then 5FPS, this gets 45-60FPS for me.
-
i am referring to this emu
-
i haven't used this one so i dunno
-
Is it just me or is the Readme included in this zip/rar all garble?
Such as:
*.
-
open it in another text reader
-
Well, opened it in word and it recommended i use a chinese font....translated that with babelfish and got some very broken english.
Better than that garble for sure but still very difficult to understand.
-
oops that readme isnt right one, i forget where i got mine from it explained it all...
let me look for it and i'll post its contents.
-
Heres the Translated readme, im sure this ones better.
Instructions
------------
1. Rip your favorite game using cdrwin(as a raw 2352 byte sector image), put
both image and cue in the same directory as girigiri saturn.
OR
1. Run glaunch.exe with a full pathname(e.g. If you have all the files in
c:\girigiri, then run the program as c:\girigiri\glaunch). Setup everything
how you want it, click the big image, then when Girigiri starts, close the
program(you only have to launch glaunch once). You may also want to adjust
the AREA option in base.ini to the region of the cd that's in your
cdrom(see step 3).
Now just run gsaturn with the "-DISK" switch(e.g. gsaturn -DISK). Make sure
your saturn game is in your first cdrom(if you have cdrwin handy, just
check to see which one is first in the list).
This mode does work(I got it working in Win98 using VirtualPC and on my
Win2k setup), but it may not(I wasn't able to get it running properly in
my WinXP setup). Just make sure your aspi drivers are up to date, etc. Skip
instructions 2-7
2. run gentoc on the cue file(e.g. gentoc bloop.cue), this should generate
a file called toc.bin.
3. Now edit base.ini, and change DISK1TOC so it points to the toc.bin file
you just created(you shouldn't need to change this as by default, it's
toc.bin). And change DISK1IMG so it points to game's image(e.g. bloop.bin).
Lastly adjust AREA to the region of the game:
1 = Japan
2 = Taiwan/Philipines
4 = US/C
5 = Brazil
12 = Europe
etc.
4. Now run glaunch.exe with the full pathname. (e.g. If you have all the files
in c:\girigiri, then run the program as c:\girigiri\glaunch)
5. In the Launcher, adjust the settings how you want them(it should all be
pretty straight-forward), then click on the huge image
("Click here when you are finished").
6. Girigiri Saturn should basically start up, and go through all that bios
spiel like it does on a real saturn.
7. You only have to run glaunch once. So next time(unless you want to change
some settings), just run gsaturn with the "-i" switch(e.g. gsaturn -i)
8. If the game doesn't load, it could be an emulator issue, or perhaps a
bug in gentoc. You could always try adding your game in games.dat and
tweaking the settings.
9. Emulator settings, save ram and backup ram files are all located in settings.
