Title: Router Bit Troubles
Post by: MilitiaMan on June 18, 2003, 09:06:30 pm
Guys,

Please help if you can ....

Neither Home Depot or Lowes in my area has a 1/16 slot cutting or straight bit for routing my T-Molding "groove".

The cheapest I could find one on the web was over 20 bucks after shipping ... anybody know how I can obtain this special bit for a "fair" price?

I just bought 8 bits in a set for 20 bucks ... I don't really want to pay 20 bucks for one more bit if I don't have to.   :P

mlcs has free shipping...  and it's 16 beans WITH arbor...

if you don't need the arbor... I bet it's even cheaper...

I've found that fairly regular bits are pretty cheap...the "special" bits like slot cutter, laminate finishing bits and the like tend to cost alot about $20 or so...

rampy seems to be th KING of finding good links and saving money...I would run with it   ;)

Look in the phonebook under woodworking equipment and supplies. Those place have like every bit you could want. Don't know if it will be much less than $20 as it will probably be a carbite bit. But at least you don't have to wait for it to ship.
