Title: Is the Ulimarc MagStick Ball Top removeable?
Post by: NipRing on November 28, 2008, 11:50:43 am
I just got my MagStick Plus with optional Balltop stick in the mail today. However, i can't seem to get the balltop off. Is it not possible? I just ordered the red ball figuring that i would unscrew that and put on my own matching ball top, but i can get the damn thing off  :hissy:.  Anyone know for sure if it comes off or not?

Thanks

it uses 'permanent' locktite to prevent the top from coming off when you turn it counter-clockwise to switch 4/8 way modes...

you'd probably be able to remove it by damaging the ball top...not such a big deal if you're going to replace it anyway...you'd have to clean up the threads before putting on your own balltop...

There's another topic just like this one a month or so ago - search for that one. But yeah, it's locktite-ed on. I ordered a special one without locktite because Andy told me trying to get the ball off would destroy it. But someone else discovered otherwise - they got their ball off with a special tool. It's in that other thread if you can find it.

Yep, it was my thread and I just did it yesterday.  Worked like a charm!
