Title: Any advice for power buttons?
Post by: Chris2 on November 27, 2008, 09:37:00 pm
I'm planning on rigging together an all-in-one power button using one of those power strips where turning one thing off (in this case, the computer) turns everything else off. (monitor, marquee lights, etc.) I'd like to have the power button be a momentary button mounted into the coin door. Are there any pre-existing doors that A) have a button in them that could be easily wired to a PC's power button, and B) Would fill the pre-cut Mameroom Ultimate Arcade II coin door (about 13.5in. by 11in.)? Even a door with a coin button in it would work, so long as the button functioned as a momentary pushbutton.

You could always just mount a switch behind one of the coin return buttons.  Nice easy way to conceal it without adding another pushbutton down there.  I wired mine to a standard pushbutton and mounted it inside my control panel box.  So I just flip up the top, hit the button, and everything is ready to go.
