Title: Happs microswitch problems
Post by: Joe Presto on June 27, 2002, 12:35:53 pm
Hi, I've just noticed a problem with my controls where some of the buttons, joysticks (the least used ones) were sending duplicate keypresses.  Wiggling the button when pressed would at times trigger multiple keystrokes.

I initially thought there was some sort of grounding problem or short, but wiring up a single isolated button eliminated that possibility.

I finally found it to be a microswitch problem - maybe some sort of buildup on the internal contacts.  I'm a bit concerned about this, as at least a dozen microswitches are affected.  The cab is only 6 months old with no unusual surroundings (not near salt water or anything).

I can probably just replace all the failing microswitches, but I don't want this to be an ongoing issue.. has anyone else run into this?
