Title: Losing Sync
Post by: wmfms on June 18, 2003, 06:30:32 pm
Hey guys,

Finally managed to power my Hantarex MTC9110 using a 110v transformer. I read the other xbox to monitor posts, but I'm still uncertain of how to fix this problem.

Basically the monitor loses sync whenever the overall brightness of the image goes below a certain level. For example, the low brightness of the Halo title screen causes it to lose sync whereas it's stable and clear if you look up into the sky during the game. Is this because the RGB signal is too weak for the monitor? Is it necessary to amplify each signal or can I just replace the R3, R13 and R20 resistors on the monitor mobo?

Also I've noticed that if I change the output of the xbox from PAL to NTSC, the bright images that are usually stable lose sync vertically. I didn't wire anything into the v. sync on the monitor mobo, could this be causing it? Should i split the sync using the LM1881 circuit? So confused!!!

Thanks,

WMFMS

BUMP :)

Having the same problems as you. ;) I was also thinking about just replacing the R3, R13 and R20 :) Should solve the problem, but atm i got bigger problems.. Sync problems to be exact. Tryed installing a LM1881 without it solving the problem.. have you gotten any futher with your project?
