Title: help with a monitor!!

my friend recently got bought a arcade game, he played it a few times then moved it to another location in the house.  Now when he turns it on the monitor just shows a light in the middle of the screen and thats it.  Anyone out there have any ideas what the problem might be?

if it displays a flat horizontal line , it is loss of vertical deflection.
with any luck , it will be little more than resoldering the vert output ic

what make/model is the monitor ?
