Should all games, if you had a powerful enough PC, run ar 60 FPS? I notcied that some games, though they seem to run perfect show only 30 or 40 FPS. Are some games 30 FPS max, or is it that my PC blows?

It could be a combination of different things. MAME isn't hardware accelerated enough to run some games. It's mostly software that slows things down. You could have a 4GHz P4 and not be able to run the Cruisin' games at 60FPS.

If the original game ran at 59, 58, 47, 42, or 30 hz, and you run the game at the original speed, then Hz = max FPS.
For example, Tron had a 30 hz refresh, so you should only be getting 30 FPS on this game.

I have trouble getting a lot of the vector games to run at the proper speed, especially at high resolution, They might run at 20 or 30 fps at 1600x1200, but if I hit F10 it shoots up to 100. I don't know what the deal is. It seems like Star Wars and Return of the Jedi are the only vector games I can get to run proper speed at that res.

Almost all verctor games ran at 30 hz; starwars & empire stikes back are 30 hz games.
Mame used to have problems running vector games at very high resolutions. Which vector games do you have problems with, and what are the FPS and resolution you're running?

what games are you trying.
I just tried starwars and tailgunner... both different drivers, and both worked perfect (other then having to set tailgunners analog percent to about 225 to make it playable)
