I didn't do anything to my set-up, I just started MaLa tonight and it won't scroll game lists. It does function in-game (after loading from MaLa). It works in other things, too. I checked the controller settings for joystick in MaLa and it hadn't changed. I unchecked them, okayed, went back into options and rechecked, and still no scrolling. I don't know.

I should perhaps clarify that only the 'joystick' won't scroll game lists. Keyboard input works just fine. And both work fine in-game.

It may not have anything to do with MaLa, as I tried a secondary installation and there's no change in behavior. Then again, something else cropped up: my digital, IPAC-connected stick will only scroll down one heading per movement. Yet it will continuously scroll up. Very weird.

Good Luck finding the issue :)

I know, huh? Actually, I have to recant the second part there. It may've just been me not pulling my 8-way (IPAC-connected) stick directly down, thereby confusing me, because it scrolled downward last night, although it would often change game lists at the same time. The U360 is still inactive, though. I guess I'll have to try a completely new installation and see what comes up there.

Yeah, I went and tried a brand new installation. Only set up basic mame and set joystick on and it's not scrolling. Definitely the weird behavior with my IPAC-connected digital stick had to do with the stick movement itself.

And, I tried another U360. Same behavior. I suppose it could be something driver-related on my computer? I don't know.

Well, I figured it out. I went back into game pad options in Windows and clicked 'advanced' and it showed 'none' for 'use with older programs'. Hm. I dunno what that means. So I selected the U360 instead, and now it scrolls lists. I don't know how it got changed or what, but good that nothing was 'broken'.
