This photo was pointed out to me by a friend at KLOV. Can someone with some tracing skills please oh please trace this bad boy?
-
I figured what the hell and ran the CPO through Vector Magic. Yes, it needs a ton of work still... but anyone with skills can now choose between the raster image above or this vector image...
NOTE: I had to 7-zip this file to get it to fit and had to change the extension to .ZIP to fool the software here. Simply download, change the extension to .7z and uncompress with 7-Zip.
-
Finally, here is a PNG of what the EPS file above (vector version) looks like. Again, it still needs tons of work so I am not sure if someone wants to start from scratch or from the EPS above.
-
Isn't neverending project doing it?

Yes, but he's HAND TRACING the art from the CPO first.... the original scan above will help that process I'd imagine. He originally asked for a scan... here it is! w00t!
Being a complete moron when it comes to Illustrator, I figured I'd do what I can do.

Here's what I have so far (a screenshot of the vector). I am using a combination of a hand-traced "scan" and some digital pictures. This picture looks better than mine, so I will take a look.
Do you have anything higher-res than your above attached picture?
-
Unfortunately that is what I have... the progress looks good thus far.

Hey frizz I was the one on KLOV (gunsmoke guy) that originally pointed that photo out to you , I noticed that "joemagiera " on KLOV is selling a paperboy control panel.. not sure if this helps you at all in the post "nudgefree" might have purchased it.. any ways here is the thread:
http://forums.webmagic.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1012435&an=0&page=0#Post1012435
and the pic of the paperboy panel "$28.00" (again not sure if it's still available):

"Never ending project" seems to be doing an incredible job with this, but thought u might be interested in the panel, could clean up well if still available etc...

Thanks for pointing that out....but I think i'll hold off and if a repro ever comes out I'll jump. What I have isn't bad...just one little area missing.
-
I got really busy at work lately, which is where I have been working on this trace. So unfortunately, not much progress has been made. But hopefully I will catch a break soon and finish it up. My Paperboy CP is looking pretty bad, and is in dire need of replacement.
-
Good news on the Paperboy CPO front: I just met with Rich at ThisOldGame, and he is currently working on reproducing the handlebar overlay. He says it should be done soon. He will also be working on the CPO after that, using an original CPO removed in one piece and the vector file I started. Hopefully this will be done soon as well.
I imagine if you send him your request, he will get a good idea of how many people are looking for the CPO and handlebar overlays - maybe even help move it up on the priority list. ;)

I hope that doesn't inturpt my bubble bobble button stickers that I've been needing ! hehe, Supposidly rich is also taking care of those
