Title: Animation on layout?

So I'd like to add a small animation to my layouts - in this case it's a button with the color fading. I can create an animated gif, but I read on another thread that animated gifs don't work with MaLa layouts. The layout editor lets you slide an image, but I need the frames to remain stationary. Is there any way to do this?

Not at the moment, but becuase it's you I will investigate further.  ;)

I have a feeling it is an issue with Delphi  :banghead:

Found some 3rd party tools here for Delphi that seems to work.

See attached very basic demo

I tried it once but it was a problem to rotate an animated gif for a flipped or switched layout view. Maybe you get it running, good luck!

That would be fantastic! Even if it didn't work for flipping and rotating it's still a useful feature. I'll owe you a beer (at least)!

Yeah, I can see that being an issue but I agree with Arzoo that it is better than nothing. ;-)

Eg A button may look ok no matter the orientation

We will see

... or custom 1 for horizontal, custom 2 for vertical would work around that.

Yes, It might come to that, where you would have to source the animated gif at the right orientation

What about flash animation?  I know they are scalable but can they be rotated easy? That would be cool.

DirectX / 3D is what I am looking at long term

I've got some time off around Xmas. I hope to knoch a few things off the list then  ;)
