Some people just shouldn't be crying financial woe. (http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081111/harvard_university.html) One would think $37bill in endowment would be enough that they could keep quiet and swallow a little revenue reduction.
-
No kidding ..... I'm not sure what to even say to that ....
Anybody that can make a statement like:
The school still intends to implement initiatives to make education affordable to students from low- and middle-income families, and will ensure that those with income below $60,000 will pay nothing to send children to Harvard College. Those earning up to $180,000 can expect to pay no more than about 10 percent of their income, she said.
Obviously does not know what category the majority of the country falls under.
And I mean waaaaay under.

I graduated HS right near there and was on the lowest end of the low end scale... the response to my application roughly translated to "---smurfette--- please". They were sure happy to take my money for the exhorbitant application fee, though.

Which is exactly what I would expect to hear from them as well.
Even around here their more than happy to take your application .... money .... even if you don't have a rats chance in hell of getting in let alone getting any "assistance" that they seem to so proudly offer to the "lower class". (i.e. non-existant)
I generally recommend tech schools anyways..... there will always be a demand for the skilled hands on types. And a degree doesn't always make for good management either, I like my bosses to at least have a clue as to what my job consists of.
